GCL Energy Technology Brings “Local for Local” Energy Strategy to AT ONE IMPACT WEEK 2026 in Singapore

2026-09-11

Meeting Southeast Asia’s rising electricity demand requires solutions built around local needs. That was the message GCL Energy Technology brought to AT ONE IMPACT WEEK 2026 in Singapore on September 10, where it shared its approach to clean power development and AI-enabled energy management.

Speaking on a clean energy panel, Board Secretary Yang Erli highlighted the need to match investment with local resources, infrastructure and development priorities. He also discussed how AI can improve forecasting, dispatch and operations as energy systems become more complex.

The company’s “Local for Local” approach is taking shape in Indonesia. Working with PLN Indonesia Power, GCL Energy Technology has begun construction on the 100 MW Gajah Mungkur floating solar project and the 100 MW Banyuwangi ground-mounted solar project.

Both projects aim to expand local clean electricity supply while supporting employment, procurement and skills development—connecting the region’s energy transition with opportunities for local communities.
